Ashton "Tuba" Cain
Bass
Born in Florence, SC, Ashton "TUBA" Cain grew up in a musical family of singers, instrumentalists, and dancers. Both parents are singers and his father was the Minister of Music for his home church. As a result, Ashton began singing in the youth choir at the early age of 4. Growing up around music, Ashton wanted to learn how to play drums. Ashton's love for music only grew deeper and his interest in other instruments grew. Once in grade school, Ashton sang with the school choir in elementary school. In middle school, his band director told him he should learn how to play tuba and from that point on he hit the ground running. From this simple encouragement, Ashton went on to play tuba, trombone, euphonium and percussion. Never satisfied with stagnation, while in college Ashton taught himself how to play bass guitar with the help of his roomate. Ashton has played with multiple well known bands including; Adam Travis and Soul (NY), En Limbo (FL), House Silbor (CT), Justin and the Outs (FL), and the incomparable Eugene Snowden. After moving to Florida, Ashton began playing around the Orlando area which is where he met Ed "Smooth Fingaz" and in 2022 He and Ed formed "United Groove". By 2024, with the addition of T.E.C., Jay and James, the puzzle was complete and journey began.
Alvin "T.E.C." Colbert
Drums
Born in Palatka, FL, Alvin “T.E.C.” Colbert’s musical life
began in the church singing and playing almost from the time
he was born. In school, T.E.C. played French horn through his
school years. In his final year in High School, and about 3 years
after, he also picked up trumpet and played with many local
artists including a stint with local Latin Jazz band “Coco Jazz”.
T.E.C. hit the road as a hip-hop artist with 4 th King productions
and The G.I. League releasing multiple projects under those
labels while never straying too far away from his first love,
drums. T.E.C. has served as drummer and music director for
multiple artists and currently serves as Music Director for his
local church, owner/operator of Authentic Artistry Entertainment
Group, LLC., and co-host of The Let’s Get Canceled Podcast.
Father of 4 husband of 1, T.E.C. joined United Groove in 2023
and immediately fit like a glove with the crew. T.E.C. adds
vocals, excitement, dedication, comedy, and passion to the
already stellar lineup of United Groove musicians who possess
all the same qualities. You can hear him on drums on every
